POSITION SUMMARY

The Fabrication Machine Technician will play a crucial role in setting up, operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and conducting preventive maintenance on designated machinery.

This position also entails inspecting components to ensure they meet specifications and making necessary adjustments or tool changes to uphold quality standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and operate production machinery in line with established protocols.
  • Adjust machine settings to ensure precise task completion.
  • Conduct pre-operation checks to guarantee proper equipment functionality.
  • Execute tasks accurately based on provided blueprints.
  • Maintain a comprehensive log of daily activities.

Essential Skills and Duties
  • Understanding of basic machine safety, including proper lifting techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Proficient in using measuring tools such as tape measures and squares.
  • Skilled in operating hand tools including hammers and wrenches.
  • Vigilantly monitor machinery during operation and respond swiftly to any breakdowns.
  • Capable of reading cut lists and understanding various materials.
  • Experience in safely operating cranes and forklifts.
  • Ability to perform layout work as required.
  • Review operator manuals for safe and effective machinery operation.
  • Collaborate with fellow operators to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Relevant coursework in trade school or college is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading is a plus.
  • 0-2 years of experience in heavy equipment manufacturing is desirable.
  • Basic computer skills, including file management, are beneficial.
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn machinery operation; training will be provided.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good troubleshooting abilities to maintain quality and resolve cutting issues.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a manufacturing setting, where employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools, and exposure to various environmental conditions.

Employees may occasionally face exposure to dirt, dust, and temperature variations.

The noise level in the facility can be high, necessitating the use of hearing protection.
