Neighbors and Associates is seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team in the manufacturing of tank systems. As a Fabrication Specialist, you will be responsible for operating fabricating machines such as saws, shears, rolls, and brakes to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Operation: Read job specifications and/or blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template.
- Workpiece Preparation: Position workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade. Push button or depress pedal to activate machine.
- Quality Control: Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction. Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
- Maintenance and Safety: Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from work piece. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Skills: Ability to read and comprehend blue prints and/or sketches. Ability to use simple math to perform basic calculations. Knowledge and ability to use common measuring instruments and hand tools such as tape measure, level, or square.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the Fabrication Specialist position, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Working Conditions: While performing the duties of the Fabrication Specialist position, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
