ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Assembly Technician plays a crucial role in assembling various component parts into a fully functional product, adhering to customer specifications and production timelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute small component assembly, general machine assembly, gasket fabrication, and other assembly-related tasks.
- Conduct complete machine assembly, including final inspection and testing.
- Interpret work orders and assess production requirements. Prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of products.
- Identify and procure necessary component parts for each assembly task.
- Inspect components before and after assembly processes.
- Utilize various hand and power tools to efficiently assemble components into the final product.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including special projects.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to independently set up assembly tasks.
- Willingness to learn and operate ERP software as required.
- Familiarity with part numbers.
- Ability to read blueprints and/or technical drawings is advantageous.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with coworkers and supervisors.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Mandatory:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience or a combination of experience and educational coursework.
Preferred:
- Graduate of a Trade School.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or move items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Capability to push, pull, and/or shuffle objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Frequent standing for extended periods.
- Occasional squatting and sitting.
- Work in varying temperatures ranging from 55 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Manual dexterity for grasping, pinching, pulling, and pushing with some force, along with hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to see small print and identify colors.
