Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Manage PPS/PAI data and ensure its transmission to CMS, while assisting all disciplines in maintaining current educational requirements for regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee patient care in alignment with the established policies and procedures of Medical City.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, patients, families, and other healthcare team members to utilize a holistic and interdisciplinary approach in coordinating patient care.
  • Assess nursing needs of patients in collaboration with Rehabilitation Services, plan interventions, and evaluate care outcomes.
  • Provide direct care within your scope of practice and collaborate with other disciplines and non-licensed staff to enhance patient outcomes in inpatient rehabilitation.
  • Assist the Admission Coordinator as needed to improve unit efficiency.

Qualifications Required:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Current Texas licensure/certification - a minimum of a BS in a relevant field (nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, or occupational therapy).
  • Registered Occupational Therapist (ROT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Licensed Physical Therapist, Speech Pathologist, or Registered Nurse.
  • Clinical experience in managing Inpatient Rehabilitation patients.
  • A minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in inpatient rehab is preferred, along with 1 year of experience coordinating Prospective Payment System (PPS) and the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility-Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI).
  • Pass the licensed personnel FIM exam using the UDSMR Online Credentialing System within 60 days of hire and as necessary to maintain the facility's UDS-PRO credential.
  • Advanced certification is preferred.
