About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team at Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital. As a key member of our inpatient rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission to maximize the health, function, and quality of life of those we serve.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop individualized care plans to address their unique requirements.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on pain management techniques, medication administration, and other relevant health topics.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with the healthcare team, including physicians, therapists, and other nurses, to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Medication Administration: Safely administer medications to patients, taking into account their age, clinical condition, and other relevant factors.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and hospital processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited licensed practical/vocational nurse program.
  • Licensure: Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
  • Certifications: CPR/BCLS certification, ACLS preferred; IV Certified required or obtained within 6 months highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum six months' Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

We offer customized, intense rehabilitation tailored to the individual needs of those recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury. Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey.
