Job Summary

Silver Cross Hospital is a leading healthcare provider seeking a skilled Coding Associate to join our team. As a Coding Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Code and abstract assigned medical records, including specimens and clinic accounts, to meet coding standards for reimbursement, indexing, and statistical requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and complete coding of medical records.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of coding systems, including ICD-10 CM and CPT coding.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) program.
  • Certification as a RHIT or CCS within one year of hire.
  • Preferred experience in acute care hospital coding and knowledge of 3M Encoder, Cerner, and Optum CAC System.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working days in the Medical Records department at Silver Cross Hospital.
