Job Summary

The Solaris Health team is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our UroPartners and Urologic Specialists of Northwest Indiana team. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians during interventional procedures and providing diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physicians to determine protocol and procedure for patient care.
  • Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results.
  • Administer and record isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol.
  • Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Perform medical care as needed, such as administering oxygen, taking vital signs, and giving emergency treatments.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Maintain, clean, and report any issues with equipment.
  • Administer appropriate high-quality, patient-focused health care.
  • Operate imaging equipment and other ancillary equipment properly and safely.
  • Practice correct radiation protection, shielding, and collimating, and proper exposure factors on each patient.
  • Complete exams in a timely and efficient manner and evaluate each film for acceptable technical quality.
  • Accurately, efficiently, and completely document all clinical patient care data.
  • Participate in department quality improvement activities, staff educational programs, attend departmental meetings, and demonstrate and maintain clinical competency in the delivery of patient care services in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • License and certification as required by state.
  • Valid ARRT Certification in Radiography.
  • BLS certification required, ACLS preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of routine to complex Radiologic procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare coding systems, and clinics functions.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
  • Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to assist patients for transfer from stretcher, wheelchair, or in an emergency situation.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to make decisive judgment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients and family.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with ability to monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Complies with all health and safety policies of the organization.
