Benefits Manager

Alera Group Pittsburgh is seeking a highly skilled Account Executive to join their Employee Benefits team.
This dynamic and enthusiastic individual will play a crucial role in managing and servicing an assigned book of business while assisting in its growth. With support from additional service team members, this person must be able to prioritize objectives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate advanced knowledge of the current healthcare/insurance industry and trends.
Responsibilities:- Gather data for marketing medical plans, obtain quotes, and prepare spreadsheet analysis.
- Serve as a liaison with carrier partners to ensure accuracy of carrier contracts.
- Become proficient in all plans and products within the assigned book of business and act as an internal resource.
- Develop, modify, and finalize professional sales presentations, written communications, and other documents.
- Partner with teams to ensure client needs are met and actions comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Manage communications regarding renewal inquiries.
- Coordinate with employers, employees, and carriers to verify insurance-related data.
- Maintain mastery over internal client management systems, including Act and Employee Navigator.
- Engage clients and prospects in gathering and preparing renewal information.
- Oversee renewal and proposal processes.
- Negotiate with carriers and other service providers on behalf of clients.
- Identify and assist in developing cross-selling opportunities.
- Conduct policy, coverage, and exposure reviews.
- Handle day-to-day service requests and sensitive administrative tasks.
- Organize open enrollment meetings.
- Demonstrate high professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Show attention to detail and self-motivation.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a collaborative environment.
- Possess ethical professionalism with advanced business acumen.
- Proven collaboration, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Hold State Life and Health License or obtain within 3 months of employment.
- Thorough understanding of benefits and benefits processing (medical, dental, vision, LTD, STD, Life, FSA, HSA, HRA, COBRA, etc.).
- Working knowledge of State and Federal Compliance laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications, specifically MS Office suite.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 3 years of client coordination and/or claims management experience in a broker or carrier organization.
- Available remote schedule with face-to-face client meeting capabilities.
- Able and willing to travel at least 25% for networking, prospecting, and attending industry events.
