Job Title: Clinical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Technician to join our team at Akua Behavioral Health. As a Clinical Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients in their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support all program staff and clients during their shift
  • Conduct orientation to new clients, including reviewing safety drills, exit routes, evacuation procedures, and first-aid kits
  • Conduct patient intakes/discharge and support with crisis management
  • Coordinate and transport clients safely to all daily activities, ensuring timely arrival and client safety
  • Utilize intervention and communication skills in working with clients
  • Document client activities effectively using the electronic medical record (KIPU)
  • Monitor and document client self-administration medications while coaching clients in self-management and documenting medications in accordance with the organization's policy on medication use
  • Report any deficiencies or errors to direct supervisor and document incident reports as needed
  • Maintain the integrity of the residences, ensuring optimal cleanliness at all times and keeping the area hygienic
  • Conduct observation rounds, as needed, to ensure client safety and document client behavior and participation in treatment
  • Responsible for client attendance of daily recovery/programming activities as scheduled
  • Assist with intakes and discharges of clients according to Akua's policies and procedures
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification (Required)
  • Valid CA Driver's License
  • RADT (Required)
  • Current Health Screen (Required)
  • TB Clearance (Required)
  • Professional appearance, aptitude, and attitude
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries
  • Impeccable ethics and integrity
  • Bachelor's Degree in health services field (preferred) or High School Diploma and at least 1 year of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting (preferred)
