Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

The OR Technician II is a skilled and experienced individual who operates under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, responsible for specific tasks in patient care within the surgical and/or operating room environment. The OR Technician II reports to the Registered Nurse for each case, as well as the Clinical Manager and the Director of Surgical Services.   • Assists with surgical procedures in scrub roles.
  • Facilitates the orientation, training, and education of new staff.
  • Maintains a safe and sterile environment for all patients.
  • Performs all related duties as assigned and directed.
  • Supports the provision of individualized patient care.
Qualifications Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; college education preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited OR Technician program.
  • Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
  • Experience in training new employees and students.
  • Three years of training or experience in various specialties within an acute care setting.
  • Able to perform 80% of surgical procedures.
  • Participates in approved administrative projects, including at least one employee-identified project.
  • Actively engages in preference card updates.
  • Current BLS certification.
