Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a seasoned Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to provide critical services in securing, maintaining, and supporting the customer's IT infrastructure. This role involves ensuring continuous assurance while being fully aware of security, regulatory, and corporate policies, as well as compliance and the implementation of technology to support security controls.

Key Responsibilities

The ISSE will be responsible for:
  • Securing, maintaining, and operating IT systems while providing ongoing assurance of compliance with security and regulatory policies.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records on the security posture and delivering status updates and briefings to stakeholders.
  • Defining system security requirements and developing security concepts of operations (CONOPs) and security baselines.
  • Conducting assessments and testing of information security and cybersecurity measures, identifying deficiencies, and documenting corrective action plans.
  • Possessing a minimum of five years of experience in the field, with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area; or three years with a Master’s degree; or no experience with a PhD (additional experience may substitute for formal education).

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI and polygraph.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, or Network Administration from an accredited institution; or a Master’s degree in a related scientific or technical field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in INFOSEC, including assessing, categorizing, and evaluating cybersecurity risks and threats.
  • Experience with common INFOSEC and cybersecurity tools, such as Tenable Nessus, Security Center, and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications such as COMPTIA Advanced Security Practitioner or ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional are highly desirable.

Salary Range

The typical salary range for this position is $135,000 - $216,000, reflecting the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
