Position Summary

Castalia Systems is in search of a Junior Cybersecurity Systems Analyst to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

A qualified candidate will undertake the following tasks:

  • Evaluate the cybersecurity framework of a defense initiative, ensuring it aligns with leading cybersecurity methodologies while prioritizing cyber threats based on empirical cyber assessments.
  • Investigate foreign capabilities aimed at detecting, disrupting, and denying emissions and signals from the defense program across the cyber kill chain, including targeting, communications, and ISR assets.
  • Monitor and analyze advancements in emerging technologies that could be leveraged by various actors to compromise the network infrastructure of defense acquisition programs.
  • Identify critical risk factors within the operational environment, including network classification, baseline activities, architecture, operating systems, services, connectivity, and bandwidth.
  • Determine the boundaries of the network for intelligence collection.
  • Assess the supporting networks that may require intelligence gathering.
  • Review existing databases to pinpoint intelligence deficiencies.
  • Utilize open-source intelligence to gather Publicly Available Information (PAI).
  • Examine the physical operational environment and its potential impact on tactical operations.
  • Define the effects of the operational environment.
  • Analyze the operational environment for information, services, and networks, focusing on confidentiality, integrity, and availability; implement protective measures, detection, response, restoration, and reviews.
  • Assess additional characteristics of the operational environment, including security protocols, auditing practices, and backup systems. Evaluate adversary assets, architecture, automation capabilities, security policies, baseline activities, vulnerabilities, and formulate conclusions regarding Rules of Engagement (ROE) for Information Assurance (IA), Computer Network Defense (CND), and Computer Network Attack (CNA).
  • Identify potential adversary Courses of Action (COA).
  • Determine adversary objectives and desired outcomes.
  • Outline the complete range of COAs available to the adversary, focusing on the most likely and most threatening scenarios.
  • Develop COAs based on the adversary's perception of friendly information architecture.
  • Evaluate and rank each adversary COA.
  • Continuously refine COAs as new information becomes available.
  • Assess foreign CND and CNA capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities.
  • Evaluate potential vulnerabilities of tactical systems to CNA, including systems related to targeting, ISR, and navigation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Alternatively, an additional four years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree, totaling seven years of experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in relevant analysis, with at least some experience within the last two years.

Work Environment

  • Standard office setting.
  • During high-pressure operations, maintain situational awareness and communicate intelligence in real-time.
