Position Overview:

As a Geotechnical Engineer at Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC), you will engage in subsurface investigations crucial for site civil and landfill design, including elements such as building foundations, slopes, retaining structures, landslide assessments, and pavement analysis. Your role will encompass construction materials testing services for various commercial and landfill projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee subsurface drilling operations.
  • Collect soil and rock samples for analysis.
  • Prepare detailed boring logs and develop laboratory testing protocols.
  • Interpret laboratory results and conduct geotechnical evaluations.
  • Draft comprehensive geotechnical reports for clients.
  • Manage construction materials testing, focusing on earthwork, concrete, foundations, floor slabs, masonry, and pavements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in writing precise and clear geotechnical and field reports.
  • Experience in geotechnical consulting and construction materials testing is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Adept at interpreting construction plans and specifications.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn and advance professionally.
