Job Title: Kitting Department Lead

Job Location: Onsite, Hodges, SC

Summary:

This position is responsible for driving operational excellence and improving performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through effective methods and strategies. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage processes and associates within their department(s) to direct work activity to meet productivity goals and quality standards.
  • Communicate with appropriate personnel to direct analysis and improvement of operations for efficiency and safety.
  • Provide department associates with clear feedback each month in a structured format.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility with staff, using a hands-on approach to communicate daily and involve staff/associates in problem-solving.
  • Monitor adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures and maintain an orderly, clean work environment.
  • Be willing to participate in operations and provide assistance where needed.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential issues; communicate and escalate as appropriate.
  • Coordinate cross-training opportunities to develop staff.
  • Maintain working knowledge of ERP related to the customer sales process across all channels.
  • Adhere to mandatory OT hours during our busy season, which generally runs from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, keeping work areas free of clutter and debris.
  • Other duties, reporting, and analysis as assigned.

  • Speed: Works quickly with extreme attention to detail and learns new tasks promptly.
  • Focus: Maintains concentration on the task at hand, while keeping daily, weekly, and monthly goals in mind.
  • Machinery: Works efficiently with and operates a variety of equipment, such as drills, pallet-jacks, forklifts, and packaging machines.
  • Safety Representative: Interprets safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of Lead experience or related experience or training.
  • High school diploma.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and ability to understand/use Google docs and Google sheets.
  • Understanding of home brew and wine making products a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position involves a lot of standing and moving around the warehouse and can be physically demanding. This position requires a broad range of demands, including the ability to frequently lift and move 50 pounds.
