Job Overview

Amerifleet Transportation, Inc. is seeking Local Transport Specialists to safely and efficiently move passenger vehicles within the local area. We value teamwork and are dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to our clients. Candidates should be prepared to start their shifts at 8 AM, working 3-4 days a week, with varying end times based on operational demands. This role is part-time, with average weekly hours contingent on workload.

We are also in search of Local Transport Specialists who possess a current DOT medical card or are willing to obtain one to operate vehicles weighing between 10,001 and 26,000 lbs locally.

Obtaining a DOT medical card is a requirement for this position (costs will be reimbursed by Amerifleet). If you already hold a valid DOT medical card, reimbursement will not apply; however, upon qualification through our Compliance department, you will receive a $1 raise and be designated as a "DOT" driver.

As a DOT Local Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for driving vehicles within the specified weight range. Initially, you will start as a regular driver at the standard rate. After 30 days, you must successfully complete a road test to transition to a DOT driver, which includes obtaining or presenting a valid DOT medical card. A DOT application detailing 10 years of work history is required, along with participation in a 2-hour online orientation available every Thursday from 9 AM to 11 AM CT, after which you can commence your first DOT assignment.

WE OFFER:

  • $17.50/hr.
  • Start times at 8 AM, with end times varying based on operational volume.
  • $250 Driver Referral Bonus for recommending a friend.

WE REQUIRE:

  • Minimum age of 23 years.
  • Candidates over 65 may require additional review for insurance purposes.
  • Valid and current driver's license.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • No smoking, vaping, or tobacco use in customer vehicles or service locations.
  • At least one year of driving experience.
  • Proficiency in operating a smartphone/device and various applications.
  • Willingness to drive in diverse weather and road conditions.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 150 miles from the office.
  • Capability to enter and exit various vehicle types (cars, vans, box trucks, etc.) and operate assigned vehicles.
  • Previous experience with larger vehicles is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of motor vehicle operation laws.
  • Professional appearance is required (clean collared shirt, neat shorts/pants, well-groomed).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver vehicles to customers at their residences or businesses, ensuring a presentable appearance and performing an Electronic Condition Report on the vehicle. Return to the shop via Uber (cost covered by Amerifleet) or a chase car.
  • Pick up customer vehicles and return them to the hub, maintaining a professional appearance and conducting an Electronic Condition Report.
  • Transport vehicles for servicing, repairs, or detailing, returning them to the hub once completed. If prolonged service is needed, return via Uber (cost covered) or a company chase car.
  • Conduct inventory and inspections on the lot as required.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with clients and management.
  • Present both electronic and hard copies of vehicle-related documents.
  • Submit necessary documentation for processing.
