Position Overview:
Under general supervision, the Senior Social Services Specialist provides advanced social work services to complex cases requiring comprehensive intervention and support. This role is integral to ensuring the safety, well-being, and permanency of children and families in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and investigate reports of suspected child abuse and neglect.
  • Assess family dynamics and develop tailored intervention strategies.
  • Provide referrals to necessary services and monitor progress for children and their families.
  • Facilitate the removal of children from hazardous situations when necessary.
  • Manage case documentation, including case plans, safety assessments, and legal reports.
  • Testify in court proceedings as required.
  • Conduct home visits to evaluate the living conditions of children and caregivers.
  • Address specific challenges faced by families, including substance abuse, domestic violence, and mental health issues.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field, along with three years of relevant social work experience, including two years at a level comparable to a Social Worker II. Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply, particularly those fluent in Vietnamese or Spanish.

Additional Information:
Candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus and various salary increments based on performance and tenure. The role may also require participation in community outreach and resource development initiatives. A valid California driver's license is required for this position.
