Design Director, North American Stores

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Design Director to lead the visual design team for North American Stores. As a key member of the marketing team, you will be responsible for creating engaging customer experiences through digital store design and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the highest design standards and inform the work with data wherever possible.
  • Produce graphic standards, templates, layouts, guidelines, and design graphics.
  • Lead designers in the completion of projects as necessary, providing clear direction and constructive feedback.
  • Exceptionally skilled at image curation, visual storytelling, typography, layout, form, and color.
  • Work from creative briefs alongside key stakeholders to develop executions for digital marketing activities.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate emerging design trends and digital innovations into creative and marketing strategies.
  • Present concepts and produced work to stakeholders and internal customers, including senior management, in person and via video/phone.
  • Quickly turn around detailed comps/mockups in an iterative environment.
  • Work cross-team, lead the design process, and synthesize feedback and input from stakeholders.
  • Work closely with operations teams to scope projects and forecast resourcing needs to build production capacity, communicating needs and trade-offs when appropriate.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of design experience.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to be self-directed as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly proficient in Figma, Adobe Suite, and related design and production software.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as visual communications or graphic design.

  • Self-motivated team player, with refined and effective leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others to set and achieve goals and deadlines.
  • Excellent concept and creative development skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective cross-team collaborator with the ability to work across multiple creative projects.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
