Job Title: Project Engineer

Blach Construction is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the successful execution of project documentation, ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and cost expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project drawings and specifications to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
  • Create and manage project documentation, including submittal registers and bid packages.
  • Collaborate with the project manager and superintendent to ensure project logistics are well-coordinated.
  • Coordinate and prepare agendas for subcontractor pre-bid meetings and issue letters of intent/subcontract agreements.
  • Request and verify all necessary insurances and bonds from Blach's risk manager.
  • Ensure all new safety orientations are conducted for subcontractor employees.
  • Work with the project assistant to create and maintain project records and files.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to set up project numbers and information in CMiC and other project-related technology.
  • Ensure receipt of executed subcontract agreements, certificates of insurance, payment and performance bonds, certified payroll, and safety documentation.
  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure fingerprinting requirements are communicated to subcontractors and that they have met those requirements prior to starting their scope of work.
  • Process and distribute potential change items, subcontract change orders, and owner orders as requested.
  • Review and process requests for information (RFIs) against construction.
  • Set up and lead project meetings, as required, and coordinate with the project team to create and compile reports and information for project meetings.
  • Take meeting minutes and process and distribute as required.
  • Review and submit invoices through CMiC workflow.
  • Take regular progress photos and archive electronically.
  • Maintain as-built record drawings and update with applicable RFI/ASI/IBs issued by the architect.
  • Work with Blach's field teams to resolve issues and address schedule concerns.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Extreme attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Proactive, takes initiative, and possesses a willingness to learn and develop in their professional career.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solver, solutions-oriented, and creative.
