Summary:
The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for the thorough review, assessment, and dispensing of individual medication orders, which include unit dose medications, intravenous additive preparations, total parenteral nutrition, chemotherapeutic agents, and investigational drugs. This role involves collaborating with nursing staff and prescribers to provide expert consultation on medication management and treatment plans, while also monitoring drug therapies and suggesting cost-effective alternatives when appropriate. Additionally, the Clinical Pharmacist will educate patients on the correct usage of prescribed medications and supervise pharmacy technicians in their technical duties.
The compensation range for this position is $134,208 - $162,796, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. An annual geographical differential of $6,007 is also included.
This role may necessitate working overnight and weekend shifts.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
License Requirement
Must possess a valid license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of New York.
Education and Experience
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree; or
- Master's degree with at least one (1) year of full-time clinical pharmacy or pharmacy-related experience; or
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of full-time clinical pharmacy or pharmacy-related experience.
NOTES:
- Incumbents are required to be credentialed as a member of the organization Medical Staff (Allied Health Professional) within four months of hire to maintain employment.
- All required degrees must be obtained from an accredited college or university recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The ideal candidate should be board certified and possess experience in a hospital or oncology setting.
