Job SummaryThe Respiratory Therapist provides critical respiratory care services to patients of all ages, including invasive and non-invasive ventilator management, airway management, and aerosol medication administration. This role requires expertise in routine and advanced oxygen therapy, blood gas acquisition and analysis, pulmonary function testing, and electrocardiogram acquisition and management.
Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care services to patients of all ages, including invasive and non-invasive ventilator management
- Manage airways and administer aerosol medications as needed
- Conduct routine and advanced oxygen therapy, including blood gas acquisition and analysis
- Perform pulmonary function testing and electrocardiogram acquisition and management
- Participate in code blue and rapid response situations
- Support high-risk infant deliveries and provide ventilator patient transport
- Teach patients about respiratory care and disease management
- 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory therapy (preferred)
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy (required)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (required)
- NC Respiratory Care Practitioner certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required) within 1 year of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required) within 1 year of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required) within 1 year of hire
