Job Overview

Catalyx is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Service Technician to join our fast-paced industrial automation services & delivery team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for pre-assembly and installation of cutting-edge image-based barcode reading & package tracking electro/mechanical systems at various e-commerce fulfillment and distribution facilities across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform semi-complex work within technical or paraprofessional areas, including mechanical assembly and electromechanical component installation.
  • Review and interpret assembly instructions/drawings and follow team lead instructions to safely and successfully complete assigned tasks.
  • Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry and identify problems as they occur.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify, communicate, adapt, and overcome unforeseen issues during equipment pre-assembly & deployment at customer facilities.
  • Ensure that the end-product meets company standards and assist in the creation of basic installation & assembly instructions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma with demonstrated professional experience and/or Trade education and professional training/certifications.
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment/machine motion, including motors, gear drives, timing belts & chain drivers, linear and rotary actuators.
  • Ability to read/understand complex assembly documentation and perform on-site semi-complex electro-mechanical assembly, power/network component wiring and connections.
  • High energy, self-motivated individual with excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel within the continental US on short notice and spend more than 75% of the time traveling.
