Chipton-Ross is seeking a Laser Welder for a contract opportunity in Chelmsford, MA.

This position requires 100% onsite presence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Conduct laser welding of microelectronic components to establish hermetic seals, employing automated machinery, performing leak tests, operating vacuum ovens and thermal chambers, and utilizing mechanical presses, inert gas mixture gloveboxes, and solder vacuum furnaces.

Furthermore, diagnosing assemblies that fail leak tests and engaging in various microelectronic assembly tasks will be integral to this role.


ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with laser welding equipment for hermetic sealing.
  • Capability to work under a microscope for prolonged durations.
  • Proficient in interpreting and executing detailed process documentation and schematics.
  • Computer literacy for accessing drawings, work instructions, and other job-related activities.
  • Skillful in using hand tools such as torque drivers, tweezers, and similar instruments.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in a collaborative team setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with J-STD-001 standards.
  • Knowledge of working in ESD and FOD-controlled environments.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly processes for small electronic devices.
  • Background in military product assembly within ISO 9001 / AS9100 regulated environments.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Accredited High School Diploma or GED.
