Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Tidewater Staffing Solutions. As a senior accountant, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining our financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing budgets, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accounting Support:
    • Assist the Controller in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements and reports under the guidance of the Controller.
    • Collaborate with the Controller and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and variances.
  • Credit Management:
    • Evaluate the creditworthiness of new customers and assess credit risk.
    • Monitor and manage credit limits for existing customers.
    • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures.
  • Tax Exempt Management:
    • Manage tax-exempt status for customers and projects.
    • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to streamline tax exemption processes.
  • Lien Management:
    • Oversee lien management processes, including JIS (Joint Inspection System), NOC (Notice of Commencement), and NOF (Notice of Furnishing).
    • Coordinate lien management activities with relevant stakeholders.
    • All other duties as assigned.
  • Project Accuracy Management:
    • Ensure accuracy of financial data related to projects, including headers, lines, and closing entries.
    • Implement controls to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
  • Data and Analytics - Business Intelligence (BI):
    • Utilize BI tools to analyze financial data and generate insights.
    • Develop reports and dashboards to support decision-making processes.
    • Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Inventory Price Levels & Cost Management:
    • Analyze inventory pricing and cost structures.
    • Develop strategies to optimize inventory pricing and cost management.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial software systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work activities.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CFA certification preferred.
