Tasting Room Ambassador

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Tasting Room Ambassador to join our team at 21barrels. As a brand ambassador, you will be responsible for promoting the sale of our craft beverages, educating customers on our products, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service that exceeds expectations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Pour products in accordance with procedure and interact with customers and staff in a professional manner
• Assist customers in product selections and describe products, history, and provide general information
• Handle routine POS transactions using Square system and meet established sales goals for products and club memberships
• Stay current on product knowledge and participate in all retail/tasting room business functions
• Follow product inventory procedures and maintain adequate physical inventory of products and merchandise
• Assist in developing relations with other wineries/breweries and hospitality industry businesses
• Assist in maintaining daily sales records and accurately reconcile cash receipts
• Assist in retail merchandising, including stocking and organizing
• Assist with set up and break down for Tasting Room events
• Understand and perform opening and closing procedures
• Ensure a clean, well-organized, and functional environment in the tasting bar area

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age and able to work around alcohol in a responsible manner
• High School diploma or Equivalent required
• Preferably have knowledge/experience with Square POS systems
• Craft beverage industry knowledge, appreciation, and passion a plus
• Genuine enthusiasm for craft beverages sector and our consumers
• Proficient in handling cash, making change, and basic math
• Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Friendly, positive, and professional disposition when dealing with a diverse array of guests, vendors, and team members
• Highly organized and energetic with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, follow-up, and work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
• Maintain knowledge of our product portfolio
• Maintain a professional image by following the dress code
• Follow and uphold all policies as directed by management
• Pro-active and thorough in completing existing tasks and pursuing new assignments
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, most weekends and holidays
• Must be able to work safely and be safety conscious, follow and enforce all written & verbal SOPs as well as enforce and adhere to safe practices
• Must be able to follow all food safety guidelines and winery SOPs
• Recognize the symptoms of intoxication and handle the situation as required by Ohio law and house policy
• Must hold a valid driver's license. Occasional work-related travel may be a possibility
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry weights of up to 50 pounds at varying frequencies
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks
• Ability to operate various types of hardware to include, but not limited to, lift trucks, hand trucks, dishwashers etc.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Successful completion of background check and pre-hire drug testing
