About the Role

Dodd Camera is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Assistant/Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable expenditures, including document review, vendor set-up and maintenance, governmental reporting, standard invoices, petty cash reimbursements, and check generation and distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable department and staff, including overseeing 1099 processing, bill processing, policy and procedure updates, and staff development.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls are communicated and adhered to in all payable processes.
  • Review, analyze, modify, and implement efficient and effective accounts payable processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close and reporting.
  • Review and approve company invoices and expense reports.
  • Prepare and present accounts payable reports as required.
  • Review, analyze, and implement technological changes to enhance performance and customer requirements.
  • Assign duties and monitor the quality of work; assure staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Keep up to date on the overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Perform other related accounting duties as assigned by management.
  • Perform data entry or data analysis duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (B. A.) or equivalent preferred.
  • One to Three years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Proficient in computers along with Excel.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific methods.
