Facilities Technician

Position Overview:

The Facilities Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of all company facilities, serving as a key resource for addressing any urgent matters that may impact operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staff regarding any facility-related concerns, including environmental controls, odors, spills, and emergency situations.
  • Oversee and manage the maintenance request system to ensure timely responses to facility needs.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors, monitoring their performance to guarantee adherence to project specifications.
  • Support building security measures and respond promptly to any emergencies within the facilities.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance schedules and operational routines.
  • Regularly check and replace light fixtures in assigned buildings as necessary.
  • Conduct minor plumbing and painting tasks as required.
  • Facilitate departmental relocations and employee transitions.
  • Perform basic electrical tasks and identify when professional electrical services are needed.
  • Disassemble and set up furniture, cubicle walls, and storage systems.
  • Transport materials using powered industrial trucks.
  • Execute routine cleaning tasks to maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Must be willing to obtain certification in operating forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Completion of a trade school program or equivalent practical experience in maintenance, plumbing, or electrical work.
  • 1-2 years of experience in construction or facilities maintenance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of utilizing a computer for various tasks.
  • Demonstrated understanding of facilities operations and related procedures.
