Position Overview: As a Loan Processing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the lifecycle of mortgage applications and various loan products.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
  • Responsible for the meticulous processing of mortgage applications from initiation to closing.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of loan documentation, facilitating the underwriting and approval process.
  • Prepare necessary disclosures, including Loan Estimates and Closing Disclosures, in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Utilize loan origination software to input and update loan data efficiently.
  • Coordinate the preparation of loan packages and oversee all aspects of loan closings.
  • Maintain regular communication with Mortgage Loan Officers, legal representatives, title companies, and appraisal firms.
  • Assist with post-closing activities and servicing of loans as required.
  • Generate various reports as needed for internal controls and compliance purposes.
  • Report directly to the Vice-President of Business Development and the Chief Business Development Officer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of underwriting standards to ensure compliance with the Bank's Lending Policies and Procedures.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, including VP Credit and Credit Analysts, to ensure a smooth loan processing experience.
  • Review and verify loan application documents for accuracy and completeness, setting up files for underwriting review.
  • Conduct necessary data entries throughout the loan processing stages using the bank's documentation software.
  • Prepare early disclosures and order appraisal reports as part of the loan processing workflow.
  • Ensure timely execution of closing packages and manage funding on the designated closing date.
  • Collaborate closely with loan origination teams to guarantee compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a strong working relationship with the Loan Servicer to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Complete required annual training on compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in loan processing or general banking, or a Bachelor's Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage regulations, including HMDA, TRID, RESPA, and REG B.
  • Familiarity with the Financial Services Industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a significant advantage.
