We're seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team at Fifth Third Bank. As a key member of our Consumer Lending division, you'll play a critical role in originating residential mortgage loans and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a strong network of referral contacts, including realtors, builders, and other professionals.
  • Stay up-to-date on Fifth Third Mortgage Company's policies and procedures, as well as available loan products and underwriting guidelines.
  • Utilize technology to efficiently manage loan applications, credit reports, and other documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with branches, applicants, and support staff to ensure timely updates and progress reports.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
  • Participate in Consumer Lending meetings and contribute to the growth and success of the team.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; four-year college degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines.
  • Experience with residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
  • Understanding of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
  • At least 2 years of mortgage lending experience and an established local book of referral sources.
  • Existing mortgage sales of $1 million per month.
  • Demonstrated organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Proven computer skills and basic sales technique skills.
  • Strong desire to excel in a competitive environment.
