Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician is a critical member of our healthcare team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical instruments and equipment. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory management and distribution of medical instruments and equipment
  • Receiving and processing of contaminated instruments and equipment
  • Preparation and sterilization of instruments and equipment
  • Assembly and packaging of instrument sets
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical case types
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of a Surgical Tech or Sterile Processing Tech training program
  • OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from CBSPD Program OR Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
  • OR Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in a sterile processing department and obtaining CSPDT or CRCST within one year of hire
  • Intermediate computer knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
