Full-Time Medical Billing Specialist
Surgery Partners is a prominent healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. We are currently in search of a Medical Billing Specialist with experience in Eclinical Works EMR preferred.
Position Summary:
The Medical Billing Specialist will support the billing department by managing phone inquiries, documenting messages, scanning relevant paperwork, and fulfilling various clerical tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with Eclinical Works (ECW) and Personal Injury billing procedures.
- Review and validate claims prior to submission.
- Rectify claims that encounter transmission issues before release.
- Batch claims for transmission to the clearinghouse.
- Address any rejected claims from the clearinghouse.
- Release pending claims requiring attention for transmission.
- Process claims for surgery centers.
- Scan and archive all correspondence.
- Manage ledgers and statements.
- Oversee aging management of claims.
- Investigate and manage aging claims reports by provider at month-end.
- Handle denials from ERAs/EOBs via mail or fax related to claims.
- Process requests for refunds.
- Manage communications via phone, voicemail, and email related to assigned physicians.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to prioritize tasks based on urgency, accuracy, and quality while adhering to deadlines.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient in utilizing multiple software applications concurrently to complete job responsibilities efficiently.
• Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
