Job Summary

The ED Patient Registration Representative will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients presenting to the emergency department. This individual will be responsible for accurately collecting demographic and insurance information, as well as collecting copays. As a liaison to patients, the community, and healthcare professionals, this position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register patients for emergency department care, ensuring accurate and timely completion of registration processes
  • Collect demographic and insurance information, as well as copays, from patients and their families
  • Provide unsurpassed customer service to patients presenting to the emergency department with medical emergencies, including cardiac complaints, stroke symptoms, traumas, and other emergencies
  • Work closely with clinical staff to help patients receive care as efficiently as possible
  • Initiate registration at the welcome desk in the lobby and complete registration in the patient's room after the patient has seen a care provider

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in healthcare registration
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Not applicable for licensure/certification requirements
  • Every other Saturday and Sunday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm
  • Every other weekend
  • Yes, call requirements apply
