Position Overview:
The Patient Appointment Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing incoming calls across all SAC Health departments, ensuring a positive and professional experience for every caller. Responsibilities include scheduling, confirming, and modifying appointments, as well as verifying and updating insurance details in our designated systems.
Work Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day, Monday-Thursday 8:30am-7:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to incoming calls in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Ensure each call aligns with SAC Health's standards and expectations.
- Provide accurate information regarding appointment details, locations, and physician availability.
- Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and modifications accurately in our systems.
- Validate and update insurance information as necessary for all patients.
- Confirm eligibility, verify patient demographics, and collect essential billing information.
- Exhibit cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity while interacting with individuals from various backgrounds.
- Perform additional duties as specified in the official job description.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; knowledge of medical terminology and business studies preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Medical Assistant certification preferred but not mandatory; EPIC certification is required for the module assigned.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in a Call Center or Appointment Center, or in a medical office setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient telephone skills and computer literacy are essential; ability to perform calculations for discounts and percentages is required.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with personnel, patients, and students via phone, written correspondence, and in-person.
- Work Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for sponsorship.
