Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiology team at the Medical University of South Carolina Health. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the development of innovative therapies for patients with heart and cardiovascular disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care through comprehensive history taking, physical examinations, and treatment plans
  • Supervise cardiac stress testing and initiate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
  • Document and bill for direct care provided, utilizing current research and evidence-based decision-making
  • Participate in quality/performance improvement activities, clinical research, and accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities
  • Collaborate with the attending physician or collaborating physician to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant or APRN
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a PA, FNP, or ANP, with preferred experience in cardiology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care. The position requires continuous standing, walking, and sitting, with the ability to bend, kneel, climb stairs, and reach in all directions. The candidate must be able to lift, lower, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and work in a latex-safe environment.
