Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Neurology team at the Medical University of South Carolina Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a busy and thriving neurology practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations to evaluate patients with neurological disorders.
  • Clinical Care: Provide direct care to patients through inpatient rounds, consults, and coordination of care, as well as ambulatory clinic hours to treat patients in the outpatient setting.
  • Treatment and Management: Evaluate and treat patients based on history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results, pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline.
  • Referrals and Consultations: Initiate referrals to other healthcare providers and/or consult with the attending physician or collaborating physician as needed.
  • Documentation and Billing: Document and bill for direct care provided.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in and support quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research.
  • Professional Development: Demonstrate responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant, or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as a PA, FNP, or ANP preferred but not required.
  • Licensure and Certifications: Current and complete certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS), and DHEC and DEA license applications started prior to start date.
