We are seeking a highly skilled Area Safety Manager to join our team at Interstates, Inc. in Omaha. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for executing safety standards and policies for our regional office, ensuring a safe and successful work environment for our employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Promote and implement Behavioral Based Safety policies and procedures for specific areas.
- Monitor and promote weekly on-site safety inspections, including logging, reporting, and documentation.
- Investigate and manage accidents, injuries, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Facilitate meetings with and develop Safety Techs in specific areas, providing training and guidance on accident management.
- Lead and train Safety Techs or site management in accident management, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Work with clients to understand their safety requirements and develop contingency plans to ensure a safe work environment.
- Manage safety operations for a condensed area within the same metropolitan area or nearby towns.
- A four-year degree in safety engineering or a related field, or four-plus years of experience leading a successful behavior-based safety culture and safety leadership in the construction industry.
- OSHA certifications required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to track information and conduct audits.
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
- Effective presentation and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work well with others and achieve results through others, without direct line authority.
- Sound judgment skills and ability to prioritize work and deal with stress.
- Industrial/Contracting/Oil & Gas/Food & Beverage/Wastewater/Construction experience preferred.
