Overview

As a Custodian, you play a vital role in ensuring that our facilities are safe, clean, and compliant with all relevant regulations. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our spaces, providing essential support to our educational programs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules for various areas including classrooms, kitchens, offices, and restrooms.
  2. Identify and report safety hazards to maintain a secure environment for children and staff.
  3. Conduct regular inspections of the premises to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  4. Restock supplies in restrooms and classrooms, ensuring all areas are sanitized and trash is disposed of properly.
  5. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting needs to your supervisor.
  6. Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and conducting basic repairs.
  7. Adhere to all safety and building code requirements, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  8. Engage in snow removal and landscaping tasks as required.
  9. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff, fostering positive relationships within the community.
  10. Implement active supervision techniques to ensure the safety of children at all times.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. and be at least 21 years of age. A basic understanding of maintenance tools and practices is essential, along with the ability to operate cleaning equipment and follow instructions effectively.

Physical Requirements

This role involves medium to heavy physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and performing various tasks that require standing, walking, and manual dexterity.
