Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Management Database Administrator to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a key member of our CAPPS Asset Management team, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling asset management databases to ensure accurate records and compliance with Uniform State Accounting System (USAS) balances.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide level one support for CAPPS users, assisting with asset management issues and adding/updating locations and ship-to locations for the agency.
  2. Compose and create correspondence and reports regarding missing assets, inventory values, and quantities.
  3. Oversee asset management database interfaces, inform staff of irregularities, and report issues to the Comptroller.
  4. Monitor asset purchase orders, assign asset IDs, and ensure correct financial information is recorded.
  5. Assist with account coding, budget analysis, and procurement of property.
  6. Develop and implement new policies and procedures for asset management.
  7. Analyze and evaluate solutions to minimize errors and maintain accurate information.
  8. Release receipts for assets, ensuring correct asset IDs and movement to the asset management module.
  9. Assist with asset management information for the annual financial report.
  10. Conduct state or private audits within the asset management office.
  11. Manage the SharePoint site for Asset Management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in data analysis, database development, and maintenance, or inventory management and property accounting.
  • Working knowledge of TXDPS, State, and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Working Conditions

This role requires occasional driving and the ability to work in a safe manner at all times. The physical and environmental demands of this job include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and transferring weights of up to 25 pounds.
