We are seeking a highly skilled License Analyst II to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a License Analyst II, you will be responsible for performing moderately complex licensing and permitting work, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, administrative codes, and statutes.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, review, and sort mail and other correspondence related to license and permit applications.
- Provide administrative and technical assistance to the general public, agency staff, and government officials regarding license and permit requirements.
- Prepare, interpret, and disseminate information regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures concerning driver license services and agency programs.
- Respond to customer inquiries for information, locations, and services, and research and provide required information and actions for customers to obtain or renew licenses.
- Maintain records associated with license and permit applications, fee payments, and violations, and complete necessary forms to approve or deny license and permit applications.
- Assist in processing and approving applications for licenses and permits based on state regulations, administrative codes, and agency policies and procedures.
- Participate in projects as subject matter experts, follow project management methodologies, and ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
- Operate a personal computer in a local area network configuration and use several software and imaging systems simultaneously to view, query, enter, retrieve, and edit license-related data.
- Graduation from standard senior high school or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year customer service experience, clerical or administrative support work.
- Valid Texas driver license or identification (ID card) required.
- Working knowledge of TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with internal/external customers.
- Organizational and prioritization skills to effectively manage multiple demands and deadlines.
- Ability to construct and deliver clear, concise, and professional presentations to a variety of audiences.
This position requires the possibility of extended work hours as early as 7:00 am to as late as 10:00 pm and weekend work may be required. Depending on assigned service area, the position will require working in an office daily, telecommuting or rotating between working in an office and telecommuting.
BenefitsDPS employees who are selected for a position in their current salary group and state title will be transferred with no salary change. DPS employees who are selected for a position in their current salary group with a new state title may receive an increase of no more than 3.4% over their current salary regardless of posted salary.
