About the Role

A Hug Away Hospice is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Director to lead our part-time hospice program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing medical oversight and guidance to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical Oversight: Provide direction and guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.
  • Interdisciplinary Team Meetings: Participate in bi-weekly IDT meetings to review patient care plans and collaborate with the hospice team.
  • Staff Support: Offer guidance and support to hospice staff, including nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Patient Assessments: Conduct patient assessments and provide medical consultations as needed.
  • Children's Hospice Program: Advocate for and support the development of a children's hospice program within the organization.
  • Patient-Centered Care: Ensure the delivery of compassionate, patient-centered care that aligns with the mission and values of A Hug Away Hospice.
Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: Medical degree (MD or DO) with a current and unrestricted license to practice in Houston, TX or surrounding areas.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to Care: Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families.
  • Children's Hospice Experience: Open to the idea of developing and supporting a children's hospice program.
