The Property and Casualty Consulting Division supports insurance firms, self-insured entities, governmental organizations, and other stakeholders in managing property and casualty insurance risks. We assist clients by conducting both qualitative and quantitative analyses of their risk and loss exposures, providing strategic advice on a variety of matters, including external business strategies, internal risk management, economic capital modeling, and the development of new insurance products.

Marsh McLennan Companies is actively seeking an Actuarial Consultant specializing in Property & Casualty to join our dynamic Property & Casualty Actuarial Consulting Division. This role involves collaborating closely with our team of consultants and analysts to independently assess complex challenges and devise effective solutions for our diverse clientele, which includes large corporations, captive insurance firms, state regulators, and property and casualty insurers. Key Responsibilities:

Focus primarily on loss reserving, with additional responsibilities in pricing/ratemaking, predictive modeling, economic capital modeling, and loyalty program analysis. Oversee new projects and manage ongoing initiatives with minimal oversight, serving as the primary point of contact for clients and ensuring effective communication. Review the work produced by analysts, ensuring accuracy and integrity across various analyses, templates, and reports. Mentor and develop analysts within project teams to support their professional growth. Prepare reports and presentations to effectively communicate findings to clients. Participate in client meetings as necessary. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships to support business development efforts, including assisting in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential clients.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline. A minimum of 7 years of actuarial experience within the property and casualty sector, with a preference for prior consulting experience. Near ACAS/FCAS credentials are preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on developing client-centric solutions. Strong interpersonal abilities; proficient in both oral and written communication. Appreciation for collaboration and the ability to work effectively within a team. Capacity to handle a heavy workload and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting. Self-motivated with a strong initiative and the ability to work independently. Advanced critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Highly motivated and adaptable to a dynamic work environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with R, SAS, SQL, or VBA is a plus.
