Manager of Business Valuation Services

Position Summary: Oversee the business valuation division by engaging with clients, managing valuation personnel, developing and assessing valuation models, and acting as a technical authority within the firm on matters related to business valuation.
Business Valuation Expertise
- Proficient in and possess a deep understanding of business valuation concepts and principles outlined in the Statement on Standards for Valuation Services and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
- Experience in valuing intellectual property and various intangible assets.
- Involvement in valuations associated with purchase price allocations.
- Expertise in evaluating complex financial instruments.
- Familiarity with option pricing methodologies, including Black-Scholes and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Experience with valuations related to share-based compensation.
- Conduct market data analysis, including industry trends and financial conditions.
- Review and interpret financial and economic data.
- Construct and evaluate financial models, including analyzing financial statements and making adjustments to ascertain value.
- Examine tax returns and assess the implications of tax regulations on valuation.
- Ability to assess the influence of various legal documents on valuation analysis.
- Review and critique valuation reports.
- Investigate current valuation trends and relevant case law.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Exemplify and advocate for the firm's core values and service standards.
- Supervise personnel in a business valuation setting.
- Manage caseloads and delegate tasks for efficient departmental operations.
- Ensure timely processing of client billing.
- Oversee valuation projects for designated clients and assist in managing overall client relationships.
- Engage in departmental and firm administration, including active involvement in career development initiatives through:
- Managing staff schedules and workload.
- Serving as a Career Advisor for assigned team members.
- Assisting in the recruitment and selection of new staff.
- Contributing to the training and development of the team.
- Maintaining job performance economics by adhering to operational budgets and billing constraints.
- Utilizing time management skills to identify opportunities for process enhancements.
- Defining and pricing engagements.
- Preparing presentations for client proposals and professional meetings.
- Participating in professional organizations to advance the field and expand personal networks.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with a focus on Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Five to seven years of experience in business valuation, economic damage assessment, and/or litigation support.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and research capabilities.
- Professional demeanor and presence.
- Proven ability to operate in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and meet various deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ABV, ASA, CFA, and/or CVA credentials are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated capability to network, market, develop leads, and generate revenue.
- Experience in expert witness testimony is a plus but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will frequently be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, drive, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift or move up to 25 lbs.
