About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Office Director to lead our Outpatient Services team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall accuracy of outstanding accounts receivable, including charges, contractual allowances, payments, and balance due for the facility.

You will also be responsible for completing management reports required to monitor billing/collection activity, providing leadership and supervision to the business office team, and serving as a resource for other departmental managers related to business office functions.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the business office team to ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve business office efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination
  • Provide training and development opportunities to business office staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Three to four years of experience in business office applications in an acute or psychiatric facility
  • Minimum of three years of experience in direct supervision of hospital office management functions
  • Thorough knowledge of third-party and private insurance reimbursement regulations
  • Billing and collection experience
  • Familiarity with AS 400 computer system
  • Ability to identify and analyze financial and statistical problems and recommend action to resolve them
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with knowledge of telephone etiquette
  • Ability to supervise subordinate staff to achieve effective delivery of services
