KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of client operations to ensure a clear understanding of engagement economics and provide regular updates.
- Effectively communicate the status of engagements, addressing any issues and resolutions with clients.
- Enhance expertise in specialized areas and educate the team on emerging audit practices and methodologies.
- Oversee billable hour budgets and investigate discrepancies to understand underlying causes.
- Conduct technical reviews of complex tax returns concurrently.
- Investigate and identify intricate tax challenges, proposing innovative solutions with input from key stakeholders.
- Develop challenging growth plans for team members and assess their outcomes.
- Delegate and supervise tax and research tasks to ensure accurate and efficient deliverables.
- Take ownership of and guide the tax team, providing direction and mentorship.
- Generate new business opportunities through community engagement, networking, and participation in professional events.
- Foster and maintain exceptional client relationships, managing them comprehensively.
- Recognize individual and team achievements and assist in recruiting both new and experienced personnel.
- Deliver constructive performance feedback and on-the-job training.
- Contribute to performance evaluations to assess readiness for promotions at staff and senior levels.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; a Master's degree in Taxation is preferred.
- Over 5 years of recent experience in an accounting firm, including managing multiple tax projects and client engagements, directing and scheduling staff, and overseeing workflow. Additional industry experience is advantageous.
- Extensive experience with various types of entity taxes.
- CPA certification is required.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% may be necessary.
