Role Overview:
We are seeking experienced Senior CNC Lathe Operators to efficiently set up and operate CNC machinery for the production of precision components according to specified work orders and drawings. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety and quality in all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load components into machines, initiate cycles, and identify any operational issues, including worn or damaged tools.
- Determine necessary fixtures, attachments, and tools to meet job specifications and set up machines accordingly.
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to ensure alignment between project plans and manufacturing outputs.
- Adjust machine parameters such as speed, feed rates, and tooling to maintain precision and accuracy.
- Monitor the cutting process, making real-time adjustments to prevent errors and ensure product quality.
- Review and modify machine programs as needed to correct any discrepancies.
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to verify accuracy and uniformity.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to uphold machine performance and longevity, including lubrication and tool replacement.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC Lathe operations
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in reading blueprints and knowledgeable in GD&T
- Experience with First Article Inspections
- Ability to maintain close tolerances
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Mazak controls
- Knowledge of various CNC machine brands
Additional Skills:
- Proficient in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
- Basic math skills are essential
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Familiarity with Aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO9001) is preferred.
