Job Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a vital role in the financial operations of Dynacast, a leading manufacturer of die cast components. This position requires a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial tasks, including general ledger management, accounts receivable reporting, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Record journal entries with supporting documentation
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Manage intercompany transactions and prepare monthly reconciliations
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure reconciled items are cleared
  • Use the Epicor ERP system to record accounting transactions and provide financial support to other members of the management team
  • Process accounting receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Administer AR collection process, resolve collections by examining customer payment plans and payment history, and facilitate payment of invoices due
  • Perform customer billing and submit invoices to customers
Additional Responsibilities
  • Administer metal inventory records, reconciliations, and monthly reports
  • Manage new customer and vendor processes
  • Update standard costs annually (or more frequently as needed) and work closely with Engineering, Customer Service, and Production to understand and validate the standard cost of each part
  • Support ad hoc requests and improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Three to five years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Epicor (or similar ERP system)
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and create formulas using spreadsheets
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Work Environment

The Staff Accountant will work primarily in a standard office environment, with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor. The noise level in the work environment is quiet in the office and moderate in the plant. Safety equipment, such as shoes and glasses, are required in the plant.
