Field Service Engineer - Remote Position

OVERVIEW

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for delivering exceptional support to the Optos clientele. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of Optos instruments, ensuring that customers are well-trained in their operation and care. Additionally, participation in marketing events may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Coordinate the setup of new installations by collaborating with the internal support team and conducting pre-installation discussions with clients.

• Strive for optimal customer satisfaction with all Optos products and services.

• Execute installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on Optos instrumentation.

• Assist clients with the operational use of instruments, equipment, and software.

• Establish and maintain wired computer networks.

• Complete all necessary regulatory and company documentation.

• Provide remote troubleshooting and repair assistance as required.

• Communicate recurring issues and quality concerns to internal support teams.

• Ensure availability of repair parts on-site and complete all related CRM entries promptly.

• Conduct tests on repaired instruments across all operational modes to meet specifications.

• Represent Optos at technical exhibitions and trade shows as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training acquired through professional experience.

• Prior experience in field service within the medical device sector is advantageous.

• Basic knowledge of wired and wireless network integration.

• Proficient in instrument operation, testing, maintenance, alignment, and repair processes.

• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Strong organizational skills and effective time management.

• Excellent team collaboration skills with a flexible approach to work priorities.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in computer applications (MS Office).

TRAVEL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


• Valid driver's license is required.

• Willingness to travel up to 70% (including domestic and potential international travel).

• Capability to lift, lower, carry, push, or pull weights ranging from 1-50 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

• Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment effectively.

• Ability to work in confined spaces.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Optos offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:


• Base salary ranging from $60,000 to $62,000, with additional overtime compensation.

• Participation in the Field Service Incentive program.

• Average total earnings estimated between $80,000 and $90,000.
