KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Thrive in a dynamic, deadline-oriented production environment
  • Consistent attendance in accordance with the work schedule, with the flexibility to work overtime during peak periods
  • Lift components weighing between 5 to 50 lbs. from various storage containers and carts
  • Maintain a tidy workspace and assist in departmental cleaning tasks
  • Interpret blueprints and work order specifications accurately
  • Prior experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks is advantageous, or willingness to undergo training
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
  • Participate in the rotation schedule as assigned by management
ASSEMBLY DUTIES:
  • Contribute to all phases of Damper Assembly
  • Utilize precise measuring tools effectively
  • Produce dampers in accordance with design specifications and work instructions
Honing Operations:
  • Monitor the Auto Filling schedule and adhere to management assignments
  • Review documentation before commencing orders
  • Hone and clean tubes following established work instructions
  • Prepare honed and cleaned tubes for filling in the designated area
  • Execute daily cleaning protocols; recycle solvents and manage oily rags appropriately
Piston Assembly Tasks:
  • Process piston assembly work orders based on the damper assembly schedule and component availability
  • Assemble parts according to specific designs and drawings as per work instructions
  • Verify all components for dimensional accuracy to ensure quality standards are met
  • Torque piston assemblies according to design specifications
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory of assemblies and components
  • Prepare necessary documentation and workbooks as required
  • Scan and archive completed work orders on a weekly basis
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks; ensure the assembly area is tidy and mop as needed
Filling Operations:
  • Support the Damper Technician in preparing components for filling
  • Prepare tubes by applying oil
  • Grease gas pistons as required
  • Pre-roll ware bands for assembly
  • Conduct dyno tests on dampers post-filling
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks; ensure the filling area is clean and mop as necessary
Final Assembly Procedures:
  • Inspect dampers for oil leaks after dyno testing and clean as necessary
  • Install required components using basic hand tools as directed by supervisors
  • Utilize pneumatic and hydraulic presses for the installation of bushings, sleeves, and bearings
  • Torque rod-ends according to work instructions using pneumatic or click-type torque wrenches when instructed
  • Apply decals using automated machines or manually as required
  • Stamp dampers with part numbers and date codes using automated or manual methods as needed
  • Install dust boots as specified in designs
  • Package dampers appropriately, including inserting oil warning notes as required
  • Prepare bulk or individual packaging for dampers as necessary
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Frequent standing, sitting, and bending movements; breaks according to work schedule
  • Repetitive tasks involving both hands on components and computer usage
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. at times
  • Ability to operate a manual pallet jack and navigate products to staging areas
