We are currently seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join our dynamic team at one of the world's leading travel companies, Expedia Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting and analysis of Expedia's global cash receipts and consumer payment methods resulting from merchant transactions.

  • Prepare and review month-end close journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to assist business partners with inquiries regarding unusual transactions.
  • Prepare and review auditor PBC requests for quarterly reviews, year-end audits, and SOX compliance.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing to ensure the effectiveness of newly implemented accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with the Systems Team to provide requirements for enhancing accounting tools.
  • Work with the Payment Operations team to ensure accurate reporting of payment processors' files in our internal system.
  • Reconcile cash receipt transactions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Account for transactions arising from various consumer payment methods, including credit cards, installments, gift cards, and points.
  • Support Expedia's initiatives related to consumer payment methods that drive the company's global growth.
  • Reconcile cash receipt transactions based on external reporting from payment processors and various internal reports.
  • Manage accounting for inter-company transactions and cash investment activities.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audits for SEC filings and other ad-hoc audits.

  • Strong ability to establish and maintain cross-functional networks outside of their immediate group to ensure a robust customer focus.
  • A solid understanding of US GAAP and its application to accounting processes.
  • Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and functions, along with the capability to work with large datasets.
  • A BA or BS in Finance or Accounting, with a minimum of 4 years of accounting-related experience, preferably in a large, growth-oriented international organization.
  • Experience with VBA and/or MS Access is preferred.
