Job Summary

Esperanza Health Center is seeking a part-time Women's Health Provider to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to our predominantly Latino and African American community in North Philadelphia. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including prenatal and post-partum care, family planning, well woman care, and routine gynecologic care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Clinical Care
    • Deliver full spectrum of outpatient OB-GYN care, including prenatal and post-partum care, family planning, well woman care, and routine gynecologic care.
    • Perform outpatient procedures within scope of training, including colposcopy, endometrial sampling, IUD placement/removal, and biopsy of GYN lesions.
    • Participate in labor and delivery attending call rotation at Temple University Hospital.
  • Supervise and Educate
    • Provide clinical supervision for Temple University Hospital OB-GYN resident physicians, medical students, certified nurse midwives, and other allied health practitioners/staff during labor and delivery call rotation.
    • Precept visiting medical, nurse practitioner, and physician's assistant students and residents, mentoring, encouraging, teaching, and modeling.
  • Collaborate with Team
    • Communicate effectively with co-workers to resolve conflicts and disagreements.
    • Participate in staff devotions daily, leading devotions periodically, and contributing to the spiritual life of staff.
  • Meet Business Objectives
    • Meet or exceed patient volume targets.
    • Meet or exceed quality and productivity metrics.
Requirements
  • Clinical Expertise
    • Demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment in clinical assessment and treatment, following established clinical care guidelines for obstetrics and gynecology.
    • Plan appropriate follow-up for chronic problems, abnormal tests, and no shows.
    • Request consultation with specialists when appropriate.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
    • Effectively communicate with and educate patients.
    • Communicate appropriately with outside health professionals.
    • Address established EHC priority QA measures.
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and guidelines.
    • Seek supervision and input from collaborating or substitute physician as needed.

  • Language Skills
    • Spanish functionality or willingness to learn.
  • Education and Training
    • Dually trained in women's health and family medicine.
