Role Overview:


The Construction Supervisor at Sonic Solutions is tasked with overseeing construction activities through both in-house and contracted labor for new builds and renovation projects.

This role ensures the quality of work executed by subcontractors and monitors their performance.

Position Details:
The Outside Plant Construction Supervisor is a full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt/hourly role, offering full benefits. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday from 6 am to 3 pm. Some overtime may be required. This position is field-based and necessitates travel to various job sites on a daily basis.

Travel Requirements:
Travel is an essential aspect of this role. A valid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record are mandatory. A company vehicle will be provided for work-related travel.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and engineering documents.

- Conduct field reviews and provide constructive feedback on engineering plans.

- Supervise, assess, and report on the performance of subcontractors and in-house staff.

- Coordinate construction efforts utilizing both in-house and contracted labor for new builds and renovations.

- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to implement design modifications. Create sketches for the installation and placement of equipment such as splice cabinets, cable routes, utility poles, and anchors.

- Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

- Conduct site inspections to maintain quality control.

- Oversee permitting processes, readiness for construction, and cable installation.

- Manage relationships with contractors, teams, city officials, and Sonic Solutions.

- Communicate with management regarding any concerns related to construction progress.

- Review and process claims for damages, failed inspections, or other issues.

- Provide detailed updates on schedules and production metrics regularly.

- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in telecommunications.

- Strong problem-solving skills for technical challenges.

- Proficient in basic computer applications including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Sheets.

- Clean driving record and background check required.

- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and G.O. 95.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.

- Exceptional organizational skills.

- Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities.

- Capability to supervise and inspire team members.

- Knowledge of telecommunications products and services.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Daily driving is a requirement. The construction team may face various weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, dust, and wind.


While performing the duties of this role, the employee is frequently required to sit and stand; communicate verbally; reach with hands and arms; and type.

The employee must walk, use hands to handle objects, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee is required to operate a vehicle.
